One of the PDA's primary purposes is to provide funding and logistical support for postdoc-sponsored ventures. To receive financial support from the PDA, please e-mail the PDA Representative Committee. The ultimate decision on the amount of funds to be alloted to your venture is made by the Representative Committee and will depend on a number of factors:

1. Your description of the event
2. Your proposed budget
3. The number of RU postdocs or RAs at the event
4. Availability of funds

Should we agree to support your event, we would like to be acknowledged: "financial support for this event was provided by the Rockefeller Postdoctoral Association."

The PDA has also budgeted for a number of yearly expenditures to help enhance postdoc life at RU. These include:

1. Joint lab BBQ's: The PDA will provide up to $150 for food-related costs to postdocs organizing BBQ's where postdocs from at least two labs are invited. Before your BBQ please e-mail the PDA the time and place of your event and the labs involved. Send your receipts to Kristine Nowak at Box 179 for reimbursement. Do not forget to borrow the PDA boombox as well.
    
2. PDA Career Development Fund: The PDA offers access to a discretionary fund for postdocs that wish to attend a meeting, course or workshop to enhance their career development. We offer a maximum of $3000 twice a year, the first deadline to apply for this fund is February 15, 2008.
